The exhibition features masterpieces from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties generously on loan from the Reemtsma family collection and the collection of Ingeborg and Harold Hartog. Thilo Westermann’s reverse glass paintings Chinese Masquerade and Chinese Masquerade (2), as well as his photomontage “Chinese Masquerade” at the Amanfayun, Hangzhou 2019-20, are featured in the exhibition as a capsule of contemporary art.
